Each morning the women in our group are meeting with the Pandytown women to walk, pray and study God’s Word. We start with stretching, a few words about fitness, and an encouragement and focus from the Word. We walk through Pandytown and a few other small villages and make our way up to a gas station with an outdoor patio that has an amazing view of Pandytown down below. This is not an easy walk for some of the women. How wonderful it is to see how they encourage one another and cheer as each one makes it to the top! Yesterday 25 women joined us! As we rest at the top, we are studying a chapter of Colossians each day before we walk our way back to town. Pray for the women as they are walking this morning!
After the walk we are heading to El Bight, a Spanish speaking community, where we will be doing a VBS for the kids. Then we will be back in Pandytown to do a second VBS with the kids here. Tonight is the women’s meeting - pray for Kathy, Tracy, and Dawn as the speak and share. The men will be playing dominoes with the men in the community - pray for them as the continue to build relationships and encourage their brothers in Christ.
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:6-7
Sorry for the delay in updates. Internet is tricky! Here’s a short glimpse of our day…. This morning Jeannine, Dina, Michelle, and Kathy are walking with the women and then gathering together for Bible study. Tracy, Hilary, Dawn, Lily, Elie, Chloe and Myles are having a VBS for the kids here in Pandytown. The VBS crew is also visiting a local school where we are able to share and sing with about 40 kids. Paul, Greg, Erik, Neil, and Doug will be helping with VBS, hanging out the men in the town and inviting them to play dominoes with them this evening. Hopefully, stories and pictures coming soon!
Arrived safely in Roatan! The Lord was faithful and worked on our behalf to get everyone on the plane. We had an exciting landing in a storm and are already adjusting our plans for a very rainy day ahead!
Earlier today we enjoyed a wonderful lunch cooked by the ladies in Pandytown and had a tour of the work being done at the Community Center/Church building. We spent some time visiting with old friends and meeting new ones. The kids played many hand clapping games, had a fun boat ride, walked around the Cay and saw crabs, parrots, and monkeys, swam in our ocean pool, and even had some time to rest and relax!
Please pray for two things happening tonight:
1. The men on our team are walking throughout Pandytown visiting with men and inviting them to church tomorrow. Pray for fruitful relationships among the men! Pray that many would come to hear and receive the Word tomorrow. Pray for Greg Olsen as he prepares to share God’s Word tomorrow.
2. Meanwhile the youth of Pandytown are meeting at the church. Pray for Erik Olsen as he leads them in worship and shares with them this evening.
We arrived safely in Roatan! The Lord was faithful and worked mightily on our behalf to get our entire team on the plane! We had a crazy landing in the midst of the storm and are already adapting our plans for this rainy day. Thank you for praying!
If you want to track us while we fly…
Pray for our team to be rested and full of energy as we arrive in
Roatan for a full day of getting to know the people in Pandytown and
lots of games with the local children!
Tonight we depart for Roatan, Honduras! We will be updating this blog as much as we are able depending on power and internet.
